Hello.

I am Alyson Woods and I teach yoga. Outside of the studio, I enjoy being outdoors, listening to music, and Formula One racing, I live in Nashville, Tennessee with my partner Sam and our cat, Earl. See below for more information about my yoga journey and training.

Throughout my life, movement has been incredibly important. During my childhood and teenage years, I was a competitive gymnast, dancer, and swimmer. My journey with yoga began in 2009 as a way to cope with stress and anxiety. Like many people, I began practicing with online recorded classes in order to build my confidence before I ventured to a yoga studio.

Early in my yoga practice, I quickly found hatha vinyasa style yoga. I loved the pacing, the challenge, the breathing, and the physical practice. Then, yoga brought so much more into my life. Through my time as a yoga student, I learned about the discipline of yoga, how to fail, experienced great joy, and how to steady my mind. All of these are aspects I hope to share with my students.

I began teaching in 2019 and completed my 200 hour training with Steadfast and True Yoga in February of 2020. I am currently in the process of completing my 300 hour RYT. My teachers who have heavily influenced my yoga practice include Gillian St. Clair, Brent Coleman, Allie King, Jamie Maldonado, and Kristen Stanley.

My coursework includes the following: Ashtanga, Hatha, Vinyasa, the Vedas, creative sequencing, restorative yoga, yoga nidra, yin yoga, thai massage, and Iyengar.

My 300 hour focuses include: MOVE creative yoga sequencing, Yoga from the Ground Up, and Teaching Meditation.
